ReVamp

Hello everyone!
Well, last weekend I went to the skye hardwick Back to Basics workshop. I have to say that I learned a lot about myself and the way I run my business. I could just go to workshops all the time. It is nice to be in a profession that has a lot of workshops and seminars. There is ALWAYS more to learn. The last few days have been so amazing. I really just thought about how much photography brings into my life. I seriously don't know what I would do without this creative outlet. I know that a lot of other photographers can relate. It really helps me keep my identity and keeps me true to who I am.

After this workshop I realized what I would like to change about my business and I think just spending more one on one time with my clients and producing the best quality products. I am really enjoying putting together my marketing material (which I used to dread). There will constantly be changes of course because I love change, but one thing will remain constant, my love for photographing people. People tell a story.

I am excited to announce that in a few weeks, okay maybe a month I will be launching my wedding website. I really want to seperate my children's work from my wedding work. I am looking to go commercial someday, but we will see if that is my bag. Anyway, there is a whole lot of rambling going on.

Hope to have a new studio soon, so if anyone sees something interesting drop me a line!

Thanks again for all the amazing emails I get, they seriously make me so happy!

Here is a photo from some "groomals" I did at Trolley Square downtown. It is one of my favorite new spots.

B&W or Color?

I just took this picture this morning of Tate. I think he looks like a little newsies boy. I finally got one of him looking at me. This little stinker is just so busy! What do you think, print it in Black and White or this vintage textured look?

Studio

I know a lot of people have emailed and we were planning on meeting at the studio at 5pm, but unfortunately she ended up renting to a different person. I am beyond bummed, but everything happens for a reason. I was super stressed about it and making the decision in 48 hours is too much for me! Anyway, if you were planning on meeting there at 5pm we won't be there~ So sorry. I am still out there looking so if I do find a new space I will be sharing it so keep looking back.

this is why I do what I do...

Look at these gorgeous girls. They are cousins and best friends. A friend of mine that is also a photographer got to just play in the studio with no pressure, kind of nice for a change. I rarely just get out and take pictures for fun anymore because I am getting so busy. This really makes me appreciate having the job that I do. I love it, all of it.

L&J

This couple was up for anything and just let me do my thing. Of course it was still cold but it wasn't snowing so that was a nice surprise. I absolutely love the photo of them with the city buildings behind them. I had then jump up on his pick up truck to get that shot, they got a few nice honks and waves.

pure..

This beautiful girl was just adopted and brought back to Utah a few weeks ago and she just melted my heart. She knows little english and is getting used to her whole new world. She loved getting her picture taken. I do have to say that she was one of my easiest subjects, really natural and just so pure and beautiful. Her new family is just so beautiful and amazing, I love working with them. I took so many pictures and got some great ones of the family too but my computer is lagging big time so those will have to wait.

Baby Cora

Oh my, I had a lot of fun with this session. I share a studio space with Josh Wood from Josh Wood Photography and he just welcomed a new baby girl into the world. She was so cute and so good during the session. She was actually really alert for only being 13 days old. I forget how fun it is to photograph babies, I don't get the opportunity often.

Enjoy!

proofing

Just proofing tonight and loved the colors and textures to this photo. What a natural, comfortable moment...

My fave from Today...

I just love this image. Her mom is a good friend of mine so it was so great to get together again. I took pictures of Faith when she was only a few weeks old and 2 months premature, she has grown so much! I looked through the pictures and I was dying laughing, she had such extreme expressions from shot to shot.

February Mini Sessions

So after this day of mini sessions I was completely exhasted... My legs hurt so bad that night! I don't think I can handle 5 back to back sessions again, I think it is more tiring than doing a wedding! I feel like I am too stressed and can't focus on really being creative. Anyways, that said, I do think that this was well worth it because I got to hang out with the cutest kids in town. Here are some of my favorites.... LOTS of photos:)

Thanks for looking...

my little one

Chloe has been extremely difficult lately, but between all the fits we still adore her. I bought this headband, well I think it is suppose to be a belt, at a new kids boutique in Draper called Curdz and Whey. They have great stuff. This headband will be available at shoots, just let me know if you would like to use it. I seriously cannot resist buying accessories for kids, it is my favorite thing to do.
Thanks for looking.

I also want to thank all my blog readers for all their sweet comments!

Christian

This little guy is my next door neighbor. He comes over and puts up with my twins knocking him over and stealing toys from him! He came around his bedtime for this photoshoot, so needless to say we didn't get too many good ones. I think it was all worth it for this one shot. I love the expression on mom's face. What a cutie! It has been so fun to see him grow.
