I am looking to find a win win situation with someone in Utah or Salt Lake county with a cool old barn that I can use for sessions this summer. What's the win win you ask? I will trade a completely free session for your family or child if the barn suits my needs. If you know of someone that is interested or if you have a barn that screams, "take a picture of me!", email me a photo to
simplicityphotography@yahoo.com
I see fun barns all around but since I do not have permission I cannot photograph on the property, I am mostly afraid of cowboys with guns... jk.

i wish i had a cool old barn. I live in Lehi and I'll keep my eye out for some of people I know... lots of farmers out here... hopefully with no guns! love your photos, by the way!
If you are willing to come to Millard County there are about 10 here :)
You need to live somewhere like Blanding where no one really cares if you use their barn they are just happy you like it. No matter how cruddy it looks haha.
I like barns too.

I did a photoshoot at the "Old Star Mill" in American Fork (you can see the pictures here http://skoticus.blogspot.com/2008/12/fox.html). They do have a barn, though I didn't get any pictures of it, there was so much we were taking pictures elsewhere. They also have an abandonded bus, a chicken coup, and lots and lots of other great stuff.
They charge a nominal fee for photographers, but I have seen others there as well. Its a fantastic place.
I know small towns are the best to photograph in. You get those cute old people that are just happy to have people around and will bring you cookies when you are done shooting. Okay maybe I just made that up... in a perfect world right?
I have a ROCKIN' playhouse, but so far no barn...sorry. If you ever want to do a shoot in a mini replica of a euro train station, I'm your girl.
No the small town thing is so true!! Believe me I know haha!
Wheeler Farm on 900 E and about 62nd south in Murray has some great barns. I have taken pictures there a few times (lynndiwilsonphotography.blogspot.com). The best part is that it is open to everyone. No scary cowboys involved.
Come visit me.
There's like a gazillion barns here.
I'll teach you how to dodge bullets. haha

Really, take them cookies and you will bffs forever and ever. And have free reign to barns...small towns are like that.
I found it! I knew I had taken a picture of the barn, I just couldn't find where I put it. It was on my flickr account. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28454680@N07/3099934166/in/set-72157610966019153/
Hope its helpful!

Thanks everyone for your help! I cannot believe how helpful everyone is. As far as Star Mill goes, there are a million photographers there all the time, I am looking for something more exclusive I guess, but thank you!
could you travel to the ogden area? ive got several barns near me that you could get permission to shoot at. good luck!
Angie- Have you ever been to Lake Shore? It's down by Springville in Utah County. My family has tons of property down there and it has some really cool barns, farm equipment, old trucks, and awesome open fields. There's also access to the lake where there's actually a beach. I'd love to help you find your way around. I'll try to make it down there soon and get you a pics as soon as the weather gets better. Please call if you're interested. 801.489.7005
I don't see my post from the other day. Did you get it?
We have an old barn in North Logan actually a couple of them. One is the big tall kind with the barn roof. The other is an old milking shed that we've painted the trim white with kelly green doors. It still looks very old and weathered. We get a few people asking if they can take pictures there. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you some pics. Love your stuff by the way. Saw you on the UB Blog. Really original.
